Sudden Service: Girls Making News
Each year GSCNC receives requests from local and national organizations and governmental agencies for Girl Scouts to perform duties such as flag ceremonies, help at receptions and special events and speak with media about the opportunities available to all Girl Scouts. Sudden Service was created to allow Girl Scouts to take part in these often prestigious and limited access events. These requests--often made at the last minute--may ask for a specific number of girls, or a particular age group. Girls participating in Sudden Service events must have a complete uniform with properly placed insignia. After completing their first Sudden Service event, participating girls will also receive the new Sudden Service patch for their uniform. |
