Service Unit Manager Area Meetings Schedule

For those of you who are new to the Service Unit Manager position, the area meetings are designed to bring SUMs together to learn about what is happening at the council office or GSUSA and hear directly from council staff about what is going on with Adult Volunteer Development, Program Services, Membership, SHARE, etc. These meetings also provide an opportunity to find out what your counterparts are doing in other associations. We also build in time at the area meetings for Field Directors to meet with their respective SUMs. The Area Meetings are facilitated by the Area Managers with the Field Directors in attendance.

From Washington, DC or From Capital Beltway (Route 495):

• Take Route 5 (Branch Avenue) south to Rt. 301 and travel into Waldorf
  
• U Turn after traffic light at Acton Lane (Arby's will be in front of you when making this U turn) get in far right lane and the Smallwood building is the next two entrances after Arby's
  
• Enter through the main entrance at the front of the building and we are the first office on the right on the ground floor.

From Washington, DC or From Capital Beltway (Route 495):

• Take Route 5 (Branch Avenue) south. Proceed a short way,
  
• Take right exit toward Andrews Air Force Base.
  
• Turn left onto Allentown Road (Route 337) eastbound, towards Andrews. Proceed under the overpass and past the small shopping center, then turn right into church driveway and come around the church to park in larger lot and enter through doors located in the middle of the building.

From the Beltway:
· Take Route 97 (Georgia Avenue) South
· Stay to the left where Georgia Avenue and 16th Street merge
· Stay on Georgia Avenue
· About 2 blocks further make a left onto Grace Church Road

As you approach the church you will turn into the first driveway between the school and the church. The second driveway is an exit only. Drive slowly into the driveway especially in the morning! Children are getting out of cars and crossing the parking lot to get to pre-school! We meet in the Undercroft Room (the sign is on the outside above the door).

From East of Georgia Avenue:
· Take Route 29 (Colesville Road) South
· You will stay on Route 29 for about 1 mile
· Make a right onto Spring Street
· Make a right onto Georgia Avenue go about 1 to 2 miles and make a right onto Grace Church Road

Immediately turn right onto service road

Follow road directly to church
