You will be working with GEICO volunteers to learn how to perform basic car maintenance, study road safety, and become an informed driver, which will help you complete the steps to earn the Car Care badge found in the It's Your Planet- Love It Skill Building Badge Activity Set to the Senior Girls Guide to Girl Scouting.

Participants will receive a FREE GEICO Art of Independence patch.

My Promise, My Faith

Girl Scouts in grades K-12 are invited to experience a faith journey through exploration of the Girl Scout Law and teachings from their faiths. Earn the My Promise, My Faith pin and learn about Religious Recognition Awards sponsored by P.R.A.Y, the Catholic Committee on Scouting, and Camp Fire.

Fee: $10 per girl, which includes the pin

Clinics are designed to introduce volleyball fundamentals and develop existing skills, led by Maryland Volleyball coaches and players.  All levels are encouraged to come!  The focus of the clinics is volleyball and fun, so we hope to see you this summer!  Discounts are offered for those participating in multiple clinics.  Girls can complete various athlete badges during this clinic.

This month we are highlighting the GEICO Art of Independence with the Junior Independence badge.  Each week we will highlight a step to earning this badge.  With the Independence badge you will learn more about getting transportation smart and fun ways to get around by yourself.

Step 1: Get transportation smart

Collect some public transit maps from a nearby Metro or bus stop. These maps are also available on With the maps, plan an imaginary trip with other girls in a group.
* You should plan on visiting two to three different stops.
* Plan what times you will be picked up by public transit and dropped off.
* Make up a story about your trip once it is planned out and then tell it to the group.
* How much will your trip cost? Do you need to have a special card or can you pay with cash?

Raise It Up! Volunteer Opportunity


Raise It Up! Anthem for America Concert on the National Mall

Who: Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, & Ambassadors

Raise It Up! Is a concert celebration to celebrate Flag Day and the Star-Spangled Banner's Bicentennial. The live event will include musical performances from America's top artists, all leading up to the culminating "moment of national unity" at 4:00pm when America will stop to sing their national anthem live across the country and around the globe via a 90-minute webcast!

We need you to help volunteer to make this event a success and show how Girls Scouts love and support their country! We are looking for volunteers on the day of to provide assistance at the information booths. Most importantly we need Girls Scouts who want to sing at the big moment! This is a limited opportunity. Only the first twelve girls to respond will be chosen!

If you cannot attend in person, we also need volunteers to create a brief video or photo essay prior to the June 14th event explaining what the American flag means to you!
