Maker Fair 2015

What is a "maker?" A person who makes something! What do they make? Anything and everything. Join us this April for our first Maker Fair. To help get your creative juices flowing we have provided an activity/challenge for your troop to try out. Each week we will feature a different activity to help your girls become makers. Visit our webpage for more information on how your troop can participate in our first Maker Fair.

This activity focuses on the E in STEAM - engineering.

On your mark, get set, make! Try the Marshmallow Challenge brought to you by TED Talk. The Marshmallow Challenge challenges you to build the tallest free standing structure using spaghetti and a marshmallow. This activity takes team work, problem solving, and basic engineering skills.

We would love to see how your troop did, so please send in pictures of how they completed the Marshmallow Challenge.

Want to connect the Marshmallow Challenge to a badge or Journey? Doing this activity can help girls earn the Brownie Inventor badge and the Power of Team award from the Junior Agent of Change Journey.
