MD Bond Bill Passes on Girl Scout Funds

Thanks to the tremendous support of Girl Scouts in the Greater Washington Region, GSCNC is set to receive $140,000 as part of a Montgomery County, Maryland's bond bill. The state bond funds will allow the Girl Scout Council to expand and construct two lodges at GSCNC Camp Brighton Woods. One of our most popular camps, GSCNC turns away 1 in 3 troops who register to stay at Camp Brighton Woods due to capacity.

In March, Girl Scouts testified before the Senate and House Budget Committees headed by Senator Rona Kramer and Delegate Anne Kaiser respectively. Afterwards, the Girl Scouts shared the traditional camp song "Make New Friends" with officials.

Montgomery County, Maryland has already included $100,000 in the county's budget to support the expansion project.

GSCNC thanks Senator Rona Kramer and Delegate Anne Kaiser for their continued support of the Girl Scout movement.
