Girl Scouts + Georgetown Cupcakes
Get yours April 1 - 30
The Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital is excited to announce that Georgetown Cupcake is creating a special cupcake and donating 100 percent of the proceeds of the Girl Scout Thin Mint Cupcake to the council during the month of April.
The Girl Scout Thin Mint Cupcake is a chocolate cake with crushed thin mint baked inside, topped with a mint-ganache, crumbled thin mints and Girl Scout fondant decorations. The cupcakes will be available April 1 - 30 by walk-in purchase. The proceeds will support the Girl Scouts SHARE annual giving campaign, which provides over $500,000 in financial assistance to local Girl Scouts and troops.
Georgetown Cupcake regularly participates in neighborhood and community events in the Washington, DC region and supports numerous local and national charitable organizations and foundations, in particular charities that focus on women and children.
"We are excited to team up with Georgetown Cupcake owners and former Girl Scouts Sophie and Katherine," Lidia Soto-Harmon, CEO, Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital said. "Their investment in Girl Scouts is a commitment to developing young leaders who have the passion and know-how to change the world. With their support we will be able to expand leadership opportunities for more girls in the Greater Washington Region."
GSCNC was featured on DC Cupcakes on TLC, the reality program that follows all the action at the popular Georgetown Cupcake boutique on Friday, April 1 at 10:30 PM (ET/PT) in the Girl Scout Cookie College episode. The show featured local Girl Scouts partnering with Georgetown Cupcakes owners and sisters, Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis. The sisters lent a hand by helping a group of Girl Scouts earn their baking badges; but when they were asked to speak and make a giant cupcake badge for the Girl Scouts' Cookie College the Girl Scouts returned the favor by helping the sisters.
