Welcome Tonya Muse!
New Director of Membership
Our Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Tonya Muse as Director of Membership. Muse will oversee membership operations, providing strategic direction for our Council, which serves nearly 90,000 total members, 4,900 Girl Scout troops serving girls ages 5-17, and 27,000 adult volunteers in the District of Columbia and 25 counties in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. Muse has extensive experience in managing people, programs, budgets and marketing. Before joining GSCNC, Muse, a Certified Association Executive (CAE), worked for the Washington Post, and has spent the majority of her career as a vice president and manager. "Tonya comes to us with 19 years of experience in management, membership services, fundraising and staff supervision. She joins our organization at an important time," said Colleen Cibula, Chief Operating Officer, GSCNC. "Girl Scouts celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2012-an exciting time for every girl to become a part of Girl Scouts! Tonya will help lead the Girl Scout movement into the next era."
