Girl Scouts Congressional Aide
Leadership development summer program
Girl Scouts provides girls with the best leadership experience. During the summer, Girl Scout Ambassadors are selected to experience "work life" on Capital Hill, in the Girl Scout Congressional Aide Program. Assignments vary in each office, but typical tasks include: answering phones, sorting mail, communicating with other offices, conducting research or handling press clippings, and welcoming guests into the assigned office.
"[Our Girl Scout intern] was fabulous, better than full-time college interns we've had. My whole office wants her back."
"I really got a feel for what a career in public policy can be like--this experience showed me firsthand how our government works."
