Awards GSCNC $30,000
GSCNC is excited to announce that the Purple Promise Foundation has generously provided a $30,000 grant that will go towards local and national Sun Safety The grant will fund the second annual Sun Safety Day Camp, which will serve 200 girls locally, as well as Sun Safety messaging at Girl Scouts Rock the Mall: 100th Anniversary Sing-Along A Purple Promise Sun Safety plaque, in Jessica Dovey's memory, will be hung in one of the main buildings at a GSCNC camp. Jessica, a former GSCNC staff member, was diagnosed with melanoma in 2007 and passed away in 2008. The Purple Promise Foundation was created in her memory to raise awareness about melanoma and sun safety.
