GIRL SCOUTING BUILDS GIRLS OF COURAGE, CONFIDENCE, AND CHARACTER, WHO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE.

Your Turn to Lead Conference

Thank you to everyone who made Your Turn to Lead a success!

We had over 150 girls register for the event, 20 inspiring Workshop Presenters, and 25 Power Mentors. There were speakers from Avoice, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the National Navy Medical Center, Howard University Hospital, the Department of State, and more. In between the girls' busy day of workshop sessions, they heard from Keynote Speakers Towan Isom and Dr. Satira Streeter during lunch and dinner. The girls even completed the new African Americans in Congress Patch. The patch program emphasizes the need for girls to discover, connect and take action by exploring African American history, the civil rights movement, the Congressional process and advocacy for relevant causes.
