UN International Day of the Girl Child

Abrar and Mrs. ClintonOn October 10, 2012, in recognition of the United Nations International Day of the Girl Child, over 150 Girl Scouts from the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital spent the day at the State Department.

Over the course of the day, girls attended sessions and workshops led by State Department staff and learned about the Girl Scouts of the USA’s Global Action Award.

Girls also gained proficiency in age appropriate Girl Scout badge workshops, which will help girls become successful and gain the confidence to do amazing things!
