Congressional Aide Program

Girl Scouts spend a week on Capitol Hill

Each week we will feature teen Girl Scouts who are serving as Congressional Aides.

Congressional Aide

Since 1974, teen Girl Scouts from throughout the Greater Washington area have had the opportunity to serve as Congressional Aides for a week on the Hill. This exciting opportunity not only develops the girls’ professional skills and encourages civic engagement, but also gives them a special glimpse into the inner workings of our federal government. This year there are 56 girls participating in the Congressional Aide program.

The following is a list of the Congressional Aides and the Congressmen, Congresswomen, and Senators they are serving this week:

Rep. James Clyburn, SC (Dem) – Jade L., VA
Rep. Sam Farr, CA (Dem) – Kelsey D., VA
Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham, NM (Dem) – Eveonna R., VA
Rep. Bennie Thompson, MS (Dem) – Casey M., VA

If you have any questions about this program, or would like more information on how to get involved, please contact Page Yarborough, Teen Program Specialist, at (202) 274-3336 or pyarborough@gscnc.org.
