Girl Scouts October Service Project

Tending healing garden at Ft. Belvoir

For the month of October Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is working with the USO at the Warrior and Family Center on Fort Belvoir to help with the upkeep of the center’s Healing Garden and surrounding green space. Girl Scouts are pulling weeds, laying mulch, planting and pruning the gardens, proving that Girl Scouts do make the world a better place. The Healing Garden is a space where wounded and recovering active duty military can enjoy the outdoors.  On October 26 Girl Scouts are invited to donate pumpkins—in honor of Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday.

Interested in donating a decorated pumpkin please contact Deborah Dailey, ddailey@gscnc.org
