Former Shawnee Council is now GSCNC
Welcome Shenandoah Region
Welcome to the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital's (GSCNC) website. It's official, as of October 1, we are "One Great New Council." The former Shawnee Girl Scout Council is now the Shenandoah Region of GSCNC.
A New Website
While it looks different, this website contains all the information you need to participate in Girl Scouting, wherever you live in the Council. During the transition period we have included some links to frequently used pages from the former Shawnee Council website. If you have any questions or can't find something, please give us a call 304-263-8833 or 1-888-263-8834.
Celebrating One Great New Council
Join us on October 18, for a fun bridging ceremony at Camp Potomac Woods in Leesburg, VA. The event will mark the transition of the girls from Shawnee to GSCNC. Don't miss this fun-filled afternoon, a chance to enjoy the new camp, meet new friends, participate in games and enjoy a picnic lunch. There is no cost to participate, but you should wear comfortable clothes and please register.
GSCNC now includes: Washington DC; in Virginia: Arlington, Clarke, Fairfax, Fauquier, Frederick, Loudoun, Page, Prince William, Shenandoah and Warren counties and the City of Alexandria; in Maryland: Allegany, Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's, St. Mary's and Washington counties; and in West Virginia: Berkley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Mineral and Morgan counties. For a map click here and for a directory of our offices click here.
Take the time to navigate the new website. Visit the frequently updated calendar to stay current on all that is happening around the Council. If you have not seen the special edition Capitalk that was mailed to our members in the Shenandoah Region-take a look online. And if you have any questions about the website give us a call at: 800 523-7898 ext 228 or email HelpDeskMailbox@gscnc.org.
