Over 33,000 boxes of cookies donated

Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is donating over 33,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to the USO Metropolitan of Washington-Baltimore (USO-Metro). On Sunday, April 6 Girl Scout troops and their families delivered thousands of boxes to the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir.  Girls also participated in a variety of activities including a photo booth, face painting and card making. The cards will be delivered to service men and women along with the cookies.

Major General Sharon Dunbar, Commander of the Air Force District of Washington and Girl Scout Nation’s Capital board member, joined Lidia Soto-Harmon, Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital CEO to celebrate the hard work of our Girl Scout families.

The USO-Metro will share the cookies with active duty troops, their families, wounded, ill and injured  troops and their caregivers at area military hospitals, six USO Centers, the Washington region’s four USO airport lounges and the Mobile USO.

Girl Scout Photo Booth Pictures will be posted next week.
