Camp White RockCamp White Rock, near Capon Bridge, West Virginia, was owned by the Shawnee Girl Scout Council, which merged with GSCNC in 2009. The camp's 130 acres includes two large grassy fields, woods, and a riverbank. The camp features lodges, glen shelter, platform tent, and primitive units as well as hiking trails, a sports field with a basketball court, a sand pit volleyball court, archery range, and low ropes course. The camp is on the banks of the Capon River, which allows boating access. Canoes are available on camp to rent. Facilities The glen shelter unit in this camp features cots with mattresses, and the number per shelter varies. Exact numbers are available on our registration website (see below). The lodge has year-round hot and cold water, but outdoor units feature seasonal hot water November 1 - April 1 only. Most units do have frost-free cold water spigots year-round. Weather warnings are often issued by county. Camp White Rock is in Hampshire County. A small stack of split firewood is usually available at each unit. Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels) are NOT PROVIDED at our campsites (including lodges). Special Dates Reservation Camp Caretaker There's no need for you to check in with Raymond when you arrive at camp, but if you'd like to leave him a note (regarding things that need to be fixed- or just a "thank you"), a caretaker's mailbox is available along the road into camp.
