Camp White Rock

Camp White Rock, near Capon Bridge, West Virginia, was owned by the Shawnee Girl Scout Council, which merged with GSCNC in 2009.

The camp's 130 acres includes two large grassy fields, woods, and a riverbank.  The camp features lodges, glen shelter, platform tent, and primitive units as well as hiking trails, a sports field with a basketball court, a sand pit volleyball court, archery range, and low ropes course.  The camp is on the banks of the Capon River, which allows boating access.  Canoes are available on camp to rent.

Facilities
Rentable facilities include one glen shelter unit, one lodge, two primitive units with picnic shelters, and three platform tent units.  The maximum capacity for the entire camp is 242.  Slideshow, Map

The glen shelter unit in this camp features cots with mattresses, and the number per shelter varies.  Exact numbers are available on our registration website (see below).

The lodge has year-round hot and cold water, but outdoor units feature seasonal hot water November 1 - April 1 only.  Most units do have frost-free cold water spigots year-round.

The commercial kitchen at Camp White Rock in Dudley is closed from Oct 15- Apr 15.

Weather warnings are often issued by county. Camp White Rock is in Hampshire County.
If threatening weather approaches, take shelter immediately. At White Rock troops should evacuate to any lodge in case of an emergency.

A small stack of split firewood is usually available at each unit.

Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels) are NOT PROVIDED at our campsites (including lodges).

Raymond lives near the camp and is on call for any issues before or after you arrive.  His contact information is available on the camp information packet you will receive when you reserve a campsite at White Rock.

There's no need for you to check in with Raymond when you arrive at camp, but if you'd like to leave him a note (regarding things that need to be fixed- or just a "thank you"), a caretaker's mailbox is available along the road into camp.
