Explore Camp Patch Program

For All Girl Scout Levels

The Explore Camp Patch Program encourages Girl Scouts to explore the outdoors, take part in Girl Scout traditions, and discover the unique features of each of our eight camp properties. Girl Scouts completing this patch program will hone their eight basic outdoor skills, which help improve outdoor literacy and support positive, environmentally-friendly outdoor experiences. Visit the  Explore Camp Patch Program page to learn more.

The following high adventure areas will reopen at our camps on September 12: archery, slingshots, tomahawks, kayaking, and canoeing. The challenge courses will remain closed through Fall 2020. High adventure reservations can be made beginning August 21 at 9 AM.

Beginning August 21st, there will be a new method for reserving High Adventure areas at our camps. Please visit  this page of our website for more information.

As of May 18, 2020, Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital camp properties are closed until further notice. Camp properties should not be accessed by any person during this suspension, including for day visits.  All Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital Camp Properties are planning to reopen for September reservations, starting June 15. This includes all high adventure activities and troop camping.

The Council is currently working on procedures and capacity reductions to decrease the risk of exposure to COVID-19. These updates will be released prior to June 15.

Reservations can be made for September 12-15 starting June 15. After June 15, additional reservations will open exactly three months in advance as normal (reservations starting on September 16 will open June 16, etc.). Reservations will open up at 3 PM for overnight camping and the start time of the reservation for Day Use and High Adventure. To make a reservation once they have opened, please visit this page of our website.

Please visit our  GS at Home page for some virtual outdoor-themed activities and resources.
