Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend

Every year, Girl Scouts explore the natural wonders found across our country during the Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend. On September 11 and 12, Girl Scouts nationwide, along with their troops, friends, and family, will celebrate our shared love of the outdoors.

Troop camping event at Rocky Gap State Park (MD)
  • Family and/or Troop event at Cacapon Resort State Park (Berkeley Springs, WV): 9/11
     
    • Open to all ages
    • Girls and girl-scout-aged children can attend various activity workshops throughout the day in designated time sessions. Adults will attend with their children but don’t need to register for the activities
    • Lunches can purchased for $5 from local troops that day. Cash or check only, please indicate if you want lunch in your registration

Troop camping event at Cedarville State Forest (MD)
  • Troop camping event at Cedarville State Forest (Brandywine, MD): 9/10-9/12
     
    • Open to Juniors and older
    • Tent camping event – troops must have a troop camping and first aid certified adult and bring their own camping equipment
    • Ranger-led programming and a service project will be included in the event
    • Girls will work towards earning some badges

Day event at Cacapon Resort State Park (WV)

Day events at Shenandoah River State Park (VA)
  • Primarily troop (but also family) event at Shenandoah River State Park (9/11 and 9/12) 
    • Open to all ages
    • Events run from 10 AM to 2 PM each day
    • Two activity options each day: 
      • Shenandoah River Trail Adventure: Girl Scouts of all ages can work towards earning their Trail Adventure badges by participating in a nature hike featuring discussions on trail etiquette, natural resources, and the history of the Girl Scouts.
      • Outdoor Art Extravaganza: Girl Scouts of all ages can work towards earning their Outdoor Art badges by participating in this crafty event. The girls will craft their own dreamcatchers and terrariums.
