Forums take place throughout the month of February for Service Unit delegates and alternate delegates. We greatly appreciate the feedback provided to guide us as we strive to improve the Girl Scout movement.
As representatives for service units, Delegates and Alternates are charged with attending a Forum and providing input on behalf of their service units. In FY26, Nation’s Capital is sending delegates to the National Council Session in Washington, DC. Our delegates were elected at the 2023 Annual Meeting, but require input from our Service Unit Delegates and Alternates. It is important that input from all members is collected.
What are the mental health challenges our youth members face?
What additional mental health programs and resources do our youth members need?
What mental health training and resources do volunteers need to support their Girl Scouts?
There are two documents that delegates can use when collecting feedback from their Service Units. The first document is a SU Delegate Packet which provides background and context for the Forum questions that are to be discussed as a Service Unit. The delegate packet is also a discussion guide. The second document, The Forum Question Worksheet, can be used to collect and record feedback from your Service Unit. These worksheets should be submitted at a Forum session.
Delegates represent service units at our Annual Meeting and Forums. Service units select delegates and alternate delegates - members 14 years of age and older - who serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors. Each service unit is allotted one delegate for every 200 girl members, based on the previous year’s membership numbers.
Delegates have the responsibility to both attend one Forum session to share their service unit’s feedback on the Forum questions and attend the Annual Meeting to conduct business at our annual business meeting.
