Volunteer at Camp!

Camp Sunny is planned and put on each year by a group of dedicated Girl Scout volunteers! Due to safety ratios, enough adults must volunteer each year for camp to run. Unfortunately, if not enough volunteers sign up, camp will be cancelled. We need your help to ensure that camp can happen this year and that every girl has an amazing camp experience.

Benefits of Volunteering

  • Guaranteed placement for your camper(s)
  • Reduced registration rate
  • Receive volunteer hours for training and camp days
  • Network with other Girl Scout volunteers in your area
  • Learn new skills, try new things, and take part in fun camp traditions!

Complete the interest form or connect with camp director Erin Bucci at buccierin@comcast.net. You’ll be happy you did!

Teen Leadership Opportunities

AIT Requirements: Must have completed 5th grade. AITs (also known as Junior Sparks) receive all their training at camp, and no previous experience in Girl Scouts is necessary. Girls who have completed 5th grade also have the option of being full-time campers instead of AITs.

Aide Requirements: Must have completed 7th grade. Prospective aides must complete a survey. After registration, prospective aides will be sent a link to a survey, asking about prior camp experience and interests for placement purposes. Additionally, if aides are interested in Program Aide training, please reach out to the Teen Leadership Contact.

Teen Leadership Program Information: AITs spend half of their time being campers, and the other half learning to be aides. AITs will earn about 20 service hours during the week of camp. Letters of service or recommendation for both aides and AITs are available upon request to the camp director. Aides must attend mandatory training before camp. Training dates and times will be communicated to aides, and several sessions will be offered. Aides may assist campers in a unit or work as a station aide to prepare program activities and assist campers in completing activities. After camp on Thursday, all aides and leaders are invited to a celebration at Ida Lee Pool in Leesburg!
