There’s a camp and outdoors experience for every Girl Scout—from stargazing and discovering wildlife to rock-wall climbing and archery. Camp is an amazing experience that will stay with your Girl Scout long after the last embers of the campfire have faded away. We can’t wait to help start your camper’s summer adventure!
For this camp season we will be conducting Sleep Away Camp registration through a lottery system through Jotform and will take place over the course of several weeks to allow everyone the opportunity to register their camper.
You’ll be able to indicate what programs your camper is interested in and if they would like to attend camp at the same time as a buddy or sibling. Placement emails will include an individualized link allowing you to register your camper for the program they have been placed in.
Day and Evening Camp Registration varies by camp. All Day and Evening Camp Registration will be conducted via doubleknot. See the program guide for individual camp details.
Full payment must be made at the time of the registration. If Financial Assistance is needed, please do not continue with this registration, and proceed to request Financial Aid FIRST. See below for more information.
Sleep Away Camp
Our leadership programs allow campers in grades 9+ to mentor younger campers and learn how rewarding it is to be camp staff. After campers complete the first Counselor-in-Training (CIT) two week program, they can move on to the more advanced CIT II program and/or enhance their skills in our Junior Counselor (JC) program. Find more information on teen leadership programs at sleep away camp.
Day and Evening Camp
Many camps offer aide-in-training (AIT) and/or program aide programs which give Girl Scouts in grades 5 and up the opportunity to participate in leadership roles and learn valuable, hands on skills. Camp aides and AIT’s can earn volunteer hours towards Girl Scout journeys, badges, or higher awards, and must be available for all required training, which varies from camp to camp. For specific camp requirements, see the 2025 program guide.
Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital strives to make camp available to all campers regardless of their family’s economic situation.
Girl Scout fun extends beyond June, offering Campers the opportunity to challenge themselves and try new things at Girl Scout Camp this summer. Girl Scouts is about sharing the fun, friendship, and the inherent power of girls and women in an inclusive, supportive, girl-led environment. Any girl- from kindergarten through 12th grade- can join Girl Scouts and attend camp. If a family with a child of any other gender identity and expression (other than cisgender males) feels that Girl Scouting is the right community for them, they are welcome at Girl Scout Camp. Multiple sleeping accommodations for sleep-away and overnight camps are available, including Female-only, gender-inclusive, and no preference. It's important to note that the cabins will not be referred to by these labels at camp.
Submit your design by January 31st. Voting will open February 7-17
We offer Sleep Away and day camps for Girl Scouts of every age. Every Girl Scout is different, and there can be many factors in deciding to register for sleep away camp.
Have a conversation with your Girl Scout before registering for camp. If your camper is enthusiastic about attending camp, they are more likely to have a good time. If you are unsure what type of program will be a good fit for your Girl Scout, feel free to contact us!
