A Guide to Girl Scout Birthday Fundraisers
When your birthday comes around this year, consider the gift that will truly keep on giving. When you start a Facebook birthday fundraiser for Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital, you’re supporting the leaders of tomorrow. How to create a nonprofit fundraiser:
1. On your computer, login to Facebook.
2. On the left, click Fundraisers.
Tip: If you don't see Fundraisers on the left, then click See more at the bottom.
3. On the left, click Raise money.
4. On the next screen, click Nonprofit.
5. Under “Details,” enter: A fundraising goal
6. The currency you want to donations to be in
7. The date you want the fundraiser to end
8. Title your Fundraiser something like the below options

[Insert Your Name]’s Birthday Fundraiser - SHAREing my love of Girl Scouting!
[Insert Your Name]’s Birthday Fundraiser - Support Girl Scouting in our region
9. Under “Why are you raising money”, use this text box to share your wish for the Girl Scout mission, next generation of Girl Scouts, or your impact goals. For extra impact try this suggested format
“What’s my Birthday Wish? For more youth to experience the impact of Girl Scouting. Whether they’re building community, or courage, confidence and character- Girl Scouts has something to offer every child. I'm raising money for Girl Scouts Nation's Capital and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. When you donate to SHARE- $100 could help train a volunteer, $250 could help a Girl Scout travel with our destination program, $500 could provide Financial Assistance for one Girl Scout for an entire year
10. Under “Pick a cover photo,” choose your favorite cover photo option from our canto portal, or use your favorite Girl Scouting photo
11. Click Create.
Note: A message will pop up that congratulates you on creating your fundraiser. From there, you can invite your friends to donate, share your fundraiser in your Feed, or donate to the fundraiser yourself.
