How to Register for Camp

February 10: Virginia and West Virginia Day and Evening Camp registration opens at 10:00am

February 11: Maryland Day and Evening Camp registration opens at 10:00am

Day and Evening Camp Registration varies by camp. All Day and Evening Camp Registration will be conducted via doubleknot. See the program guide for individual camp details.

Full payment must be made at the time of registration. If applying for a camp scholarship, please do not continue with this registration, and proceed to request Financial Aid FIRST. See below for more information.

Burke Lake Adventures

About Us

Burke Lake Adventures is a day camp based in Burke Lake's campground, under an amazing (cooling!) canopy of trees. We are focused on Teen leadership, while making sure all of our campers have a fun Girl Scout experience. Our theme-based activities change yearly, while we also have traditional activities that have been at camp for forever, "Find the Mascot", and of course, S'mores! Our Friday is our party day, and last year's Dance Party with Kona Ice was a BLAST!

We earn a minimum of 2 badges for the campers, and our Teens have the opportunity to win Aide or Aide in Training of the Day (all five days!) Songs and Games is one of our amazing units, and water day is a favorite! We have a cooking unit, where campers learn fire safety, one visit is a fun handmade snack and one is S'mores. Our art unit is generally theme based, as is our transitional unit, which has been Slingshots and "Potions" (science)!

About Us

Camp Tag-A-Long was founded in 1983 by June Hutchison and Sara Phillips, who saw the need for an annual Girl Scout summer day camp in western Loudoun County. Today, it serves hundreds of Girl Scouts each year, with lots of fun new activities and classic Girl Scout traditions.

What Can I Do There? toggle arrow

Campers enjoy a variety of theme-based activities and crafts. Popular centers include archery, slingshots, tie dye, leather crafting, outdoor cooking and ice cream making. One of the highlights of the week is a visit to Volcano Island Water Park. We wrap up on Friday with a dance party, exchanging SWAPS, camp provided lunch and games.

Starting in 1975, Ashgrove began creating theme-based adventures. Every summer, the campers pick a theme, and like magic, the shady 57-acre woods at Camp Crowell come alive. One year it might be dinosaurs roaming the Jurassic era, the next it’s Star Wars in a galaxy far, far away. From ancient Greece to ocean islands, the wild west to a fairytale wonderland, or even mysteries, spies, and the rugged Australian outback – Ashgrove’s got a way of turning imagination into a whole world of fun!

Follow the theme’s storyline through our activities. Learn camp traditions, build friendships, and participate in increasingly challenging age based activities.

Tackle our challenge course which could include a zipline, trust fall, mud pit, or climbing a cargo net. Improve target skills with archery, slingshot, and tomahawk. Act out your favorite stories in theater and campfire skits on the overnight (for grades 3 and up). Learn how the world around us works at one of our themed science centers. Explore nature navigating multiple trails and sites. Learn outdoor skills and prepare lunch at a cookout run by you! Be enriched by visiting experts. Make and enjoy hand-cranked ice cream and learn new songs and dances.

About Us

Camp Firefly is an evening camp where the day gets cooler instead of hotter and darkness sets in. We offer hands on science, arts and crafts, drama, songs and games, and the ever popular Campfire where fire safety is taught and s’mores are made. The two one-week sessions are identical, just different volunteers offering the activities. Transportation is by car only. Young girls learn to feel comfortable in the woods at night and all ages have fun.

The theme is Space so you can expect to shoot off a rocket, try astronaut food, and more. Cadettes earn a badge and have an overnight on Thursday, staying all day Friday until closing. GSCNC Camp Bay Breeze Day Camp has served Southern Maryland Girl Scouts since the early 1980s. It is a primitive camp located on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay in Calvert Cliffs State Park in Lusby. The wonderful, wooded setting has hiking trails that lead to a private beach on the Chesapeake Bay perfect for shark tooth and fossil hunting.

Campers can participate in ranger sports like archery or slingshots, hiking, games, outdoor skills, arts and crafts, science, shark tooth, and fossil hunting. Units work together to plan what activities they would like to do. We end the week with a camp-wide show full of skits and songs.

About Us

A day camp that has been run continuously for over 40 years in northern Montgomery County. Traditional and rustic, this day camp is held in a scenic woodland environment in partnership with Boyds Presbyterian Church. The scouts learn a number of skills. An opportunity to step away from the electronic world and reconnect with nature. Many of our campers come back every year. We provide a leadership continuum of training where scouts develop into volunteers. Scouts learn from each other and how to work as a team.

Brighton Woods Day Camp in Brookville MD has spent over 40 summers getting campers outdoors, working together on camp skills, and having lots of silly fun. We have 4 mascots: Harriet the Hippo, Civvie the Frog, Flo the Flamingo, and Peggy the Penguin. Some of our traditions include the mascot hunt where campers search for mascots hidden around camp, spending the day with Flo or Mango, the Flamingos, making stone soup and ice cream, and many more!

About Us

Sweet Little Vacation Day camp started in 1979 in Frederick, Maryland. The camp moved between many different sites in the beginning before settling at Camp Westmar in the Catoctin Mountains in 1990. In 2017, we moved to Brighton Woods in Brookeville. This move gave us an amazing variety of settings for our different activities.

Our Program Aids choose the theme each year and run the camp with adult oversight. Our theme is incorporated in crafts, games and badgework for our younger scouts. Sixth and seventh grade scouts follow a different path that includes two off site trips. We have two optional overnights. The Tuesday overnight night concludes with songs around the campfire for 3rd grade and above. The Wednesday overnight is for 6th grade and above. We also do archery, slingshots and tomahawks. Camp closes with skits and songs.

Our camp has been operating for over 30 years…originally as Camp Oak Ridge Crossing when it service unit-based and then after expanding its reach becoming Camp Mighty Oak! Over that time our camp has moved due to attendance increases and property buy-outs - we have been based out of Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and finally back to Maryland. We always have an emphasis on developing outdoor skills and outdoor adventures, harnessing creativity through quality crafts and themes, and encouraging girls to become leaders through accountability, empowerment, and expectations. All our campers leave with life-long memories of new friends and impactful growth.

All of our attendees, whether camper or Program Aide, will enjoy themes that come to life, create quality crafts that explore their creativity and individualism, as well as challenge their outdoor knowledge and abilities through cooking, high-adventure activities and skill development. FAQ

If I volunteer at camp, can I bring my children who are non-Girl Scouts? toggle arrow

Very often, yes! Every camp is unique, but most allow for non-Girl Scout children of volunteers. These units are only available for children of adult volunteers:

Pixies: A unit typically for potty-trained preschoolers-kindergarten. Some camps can accept children even younger.
Rangers: A unit typically for school-aged boys.
Boy Aides: Most camps accept boys as unit aides

Is bus transportation provided? toggle arrow

Some day and evening camps offer buses to and from camp. See each camp’s registration page for more information on fees and routes.

Is transportation available? toggle arrow

Some camps may offer transportation, based on demand. Transportation may have an additional fee. You can contact each individual camp to ask about specific routes and stops.

Are there overnights? toggle arrow

Most camps have an overnight opportunity for older Girl Scouts. See each individual camp in the camp 2026 program guide for more information. No refunds will be provided if a Girl Scout opts not to participate in an overnight.

Are there field trips? toggle arrow

Some camps offer field trip opportunities. See each individual camp in the camp 2026 program guide for more information. Some field trips are weather-dependent.

Do I need to pay a deposit or in full? toggle arrow

The full cost of camp tuition is due upon registration. This means, if you are planning to apply for a Camp Scholarship, please do so prior to registration.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions? toggle arrow

Campers bring their own lunches to camp. Some camps provide snacks during the day, or dinner if there is an overnight. We will be happy to accommodate medical, religious, or cultural dietary restrictions. Please note any restrictions on your camper’s health form and discuss them with us in advance.

Will photos be taken of my camper? toggle arrow

Yes, if you sign the Photo Release you are allowing camp staff and volunteers to take photos of your camper for official use. Staff and Volunteers are NOT permitted to take photos of campers for non-official purposes.

The Photo Release or Materials Release Form is a document through which you give consent for staff to take photos of your camper. These photos will be shared on the Parent Facebook page and may be used for Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital marketing materials. If you choose to not sign the Materials Release Form you are declining permission to take photos of your camper or collect quotes from your camper. Our staff will NOT take any photos of campers who do not have a signed Materials Release Form.

What if I have to cancel my camper’s registration? toggle arrow

Each camp has an individual cancellation policy. Contact councilcare@gscnc.org if you’d like to request a refund.

Can my camper bring medication to camp? toggle arrow

At day and evening camp, we have a limited ability to administer medications. Emergency medications are always kept with a staff member, in the unit first-aid kit, with the camper. Please contact us ahead of time if you have concerns.

Can my camper bring a buddy? toggle arrow

Some camps allow campers to bring a buddy. If buddies can be requested, there will be a space to list them when registering for camp.

Does my child have to be a registered Girl Scout? toggle arrow

Camp is open to all youth completing K-11. Any youth who is not a current member is welcome to attend, but they must register and become a Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital member at mygs.girlscouts.org.
