Both History Centers offer weekend tours and workshops for youth and adult members. Girl Scouts may earn most of the Girl Scout Way badges during a workshop. Check the Council’s program calendar to see the current offerings. Other programs may be available upon request.
The all-volunteer Council History Committee preserves and protects documents and materials that reflect the history of Girl Scouts Nation's Capital and creates exhibits and workshops that help today’s Girl Scout’s appreciate our rich past.
Council Historians have work sessions every Thursday at the History Center in Frederick, 11am-3pm. Open Houses are held the first Sunday each month (1-4pm). Volunteers may also work on short-term projects as needed.
The History Centers also provide a loving home for any leftover badges, uniforms, cookie prizes, and other future treasures or more. Help save today’s history for tomorrow’s girls!
