Volunteer at Camp!

Camp Valley View is planned and put on each year by a group of dedicated Girl Scout volunteers! Due to safety ratios, enough adults must volunteer each year for camp to run. Unfortunately, if not enough volunteers sign up, camp will be cancelled. We need your help to ensure that camp can happen this year and that every girl has an amazing camp experience.

Benefits of Volunteering

  • Guaranteed placement for your camper(s) through early registration access in January
  • Reduced registration rate
  • Units at camp for sons and preschool-aged children of volunteers - yes, they get to come to camp too!
  • Receive volunteer hours for training and camp days
  • Network with other Girl Scout volunteers in your area
  • Learn new skills, try new things, and take part in fun camp traditions!

Complete the interest form or connect with the camp team at or 301-514-5268. You’ll be happy you did!

Teen Leadership Opportunities

AIT Requirements: AITs must have completed 6th grade and previously attended a Girl Scout day/evening camp. Anyone interested in being an AIT needs to contact for an application. Girls must attend a Program Aide training class prior to camp.

AITs are considered campers, but will complete leadership programming and have set times to work with Brownies to earn their Program Aide pin and their Leader in Action award. Earning those two awards will permit AITs to advance to an aide role in future summers.

Aide Requirements: Interested Program Aides must fill out an application and get approval from the camp director before registering for camp. Aides must have previously attended a Girl Scout day/evening in previous years and undergo Program Aide planning meetings and training. Program Aide planning meetings start in November 2022. Contact for dates and times of meetings.

Teen Leadership Program Information:  Aides will be required to attend training meetings and a program planning weekend - these times and dates will be emailed to parents and/or girls. At camp, aides will assist units or stations, complete kapers and camp tasks, and prepare for the next day of camp. Aides will earn service hours and participate in one special event to be decided during the planning weekend.
