Volunteer at Camp!

Camp Valley View is planned and put on each year by a group of dedicated Girl Scout volunteers! Due to safety ratios, enough adults must volunteer each year for camp to run. Unfortunately, if not enough volunteers sign up, camp will be cancelled. We need your help to ensure that camp can happen this year and that every girl has an amazing camp experience.

Benefits of Volunteering

  • Guaranteed placement for your camper(s) through early registration access in December/January
  • Reduced registration rate
  • Units at camp for sons and preschool-aged children of volunteers - yes, they get to come to camp too!
  • Receive volunteer hours for training and camp days
  • Network with other Girl Scout volunteers in your area
  • Learn new skills, try new things, and take part in fun camp traditions!

Complete the interest form or connect with the camp team at or 301-514-5268. You’ll be happy you did!

Teen Leadership Opportunities

AIT Requirements: If interested in being an AIT, parent must contact for an AIT application. Online registration must be completed before April 1st. Camper is required to attend an all-day Program Aide training in May in order to come as an AIT to summer camp in July.

Aide Requirements: Only Aides who have attended Camp Valley View in the past may register to be an Aide at Camp for 2022. Aides in Training who COMPLETED the program in 2021 may also register for Camp Valley View 2022. We are not accepting any new Aides from other camps at this time. Each Aide needs to complete an application, attend as many planning meetings as possible and attend the training day before camp begins. Contact for questions or info.

Teen Leadership Program Information: AITs are considered campers, but will complete leadership programming and have set times to work with Brownies to earn their Program Aide pin and their Leader in Action award. Earning those two awards will permit AITs to advance to an aide role in future summers. Aides will be required to attend training meetings and a program planning weekend - these times and dates will be emailed to parents and/or girls. At camp, aides will assist units or stations, complete kapers and camp tasks, and prepare for the next day of camp. Aides will earn service hours and participate in one special event to be decided during the planning weekend. Senior aides may be invited to stay overnight Sunday through Friday, except on Tuesday.
