We are pleased to announce that Gabriela Alvarado will serve as the new Marketing and Communications Manager for Girl Scouts Nation's Capital. She joined the team on February 6, 2023. Gabriela joins the team with more than a decade of communication experience, previously working with private, non-profit, and government sectors to develop and implement strategic communication campaigns that compel and mobilize audiences to take action.

Lidia Soto-Harmon, Chief Executive Officer, said, "I am excited to bring new talent to our organization. Gabriela's expertise in storytelling in both English and Spanish will help elevate our impact for all the Girl Scouts we serve."

Gabriela was born and raised in Southern California. As a daughter of immigrant parents who moved to the states in search of more opportunities, she deeply knows the value of hard work, perseverance, and giving back to her community. Gabriela earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Cal State San Marcos and her master's degree in strategic communications, with a unique concentration in advocacy and social impact, from American University.
