To honor Dolores Huerta, we are collecting used long-sleeved shirts to help protect farmworkers from sun and pesticides.Throughout the month, troops are invited to learn about Dolores Huerta and the farmworkers rights movement. Huerta led the fight for better pay, working conditions, and safety for farmworkers. She is still fighting for these rights...at 100 years old! Troops can help farmworkers by collecting used long-sleeved shirts to donate to workers. The donations will be given to the American Farmworker Opportunity Project (based in DC). Troops participating can schedule a shirt collection pick up or can drop off on March 30 and March 31st at Lake Needwood in Rockville, MD. Other drop-off locations in VA and DC.
Event Location: Lake Needwood - 15700 Needwood Lake Circle Rockville MD 20855
