Girl Scouts will dive into the world of creativity and invention at
Spark!Lab,the hands-on invention and innovation space where every
visitor becomes an inventor. Located inside the Smithsonian's National
Museum of American History, SparkLab offers an engaging environment
filled with tools, materials, and challenges designed to spark
curiosity and inspire big ideas.
During their visit, Girl Scouts
will move at their own pace through a series of interactive stations.
With guidance from Spark!Lab facilitators, Scouts will have the
opportunity to brainstorm, design, build, test, and improve their own
creative inventions. Along the way, they will collaborate with one
another, experiment with a variety of materials, and learn to think
like inventors as they bring their ideas to life. In addition to
visiting Spark!Lab, Girl Scouts will rotate between an invention
exhibition and a surprise additional activity (think like sharktank)!
By the end of the program, Girl Scouts will not only gain confidence
in their inventive identity, but they will also have completed all the
requirements to earn the Create and Innovate badge. Girl Scouts will
leave Spark!ab with their badge in hand!
