We are very excited to offer Teen Mental Health First Aid, a vital course designed for Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts, age 14 and up. High School is a time of critical change and development. It's when symptoms of mental health challenges may escalate and cause falling grades, problems with close relationships and substance use.
Held in six 45-minute virtual sessions with independant coursework in between, this certification course gives teens the skills to have supportive conversations with their friends and teaches them how and when to get help from a responsible and trusted adult. Topics include how to open conversations about mental health and substance use challenges, recognizing common signs and symptoms, and understanding the impact of school violence, and bullying on mental wellbeing.
