On Friday, March 22, donors and friends in Girl Scouting gathered in Georgetown for the annual President’s Circle Dinner, a cornerstone event that not only raises crucial funds for Girl Scouting in our region but also celebrates the incredible contributions of the Council’s supporters. This year, the event soared to new heights, raising over $50,000+- a testament to the unwavering dedication of our donors and the importance of the Girl Scout mission.
The evening also celebrated the newly established Outdoor Legacy Fund- an initiative designed to make outdoor experiences more accessible and ensure that outdoor education in Girl Scouting will thrive for generations to come. This milestone was made possible through a generous land donation from the Pleasants Companies. In recognition of this monumental contribution, the Pleasants Companies were honored with the prestigious 2024 Officers Award.
As a special thank you--and surprise to all-- over 20 Girl Scouts from the Council came hiking in the doors of the ballroom, singing classic Girl Scout camp songs like “I love the Mountains” and “I’ve Got that Girl Scout Feeling.” Their joy was infectious and a great reminder of our organization's purpose.
