Girl Scouts in the Troop created a commercial to share with their community the mission of the Humane Rescue Alliance and how to best support them. Detailing how to donate food and create non-sew blankets, they used their Troop’s cookie sale money to purchase treats, toys, and food to donate to the Humane Rescue Alliance’s food pantry, which helps pet owners in need of supplies.
Adrienne Coates, Girl Scout Troop Leader, talked about the obstacles the girls faced, “Funding was probably the biggest obstacle, but we overcame that by working really hard during cookie season and explaining our goals to all potential customers.
The smaller hurdle was having to leave the cute animals behind every time we delivered more supplies. The scouts always picked their favorites and tried to convince the leaders (their moms) to adopt one. It actually worked out for my Girl Scout. We adopted Apollo from HRA a few months ago.”
Adrianne proudly shared that, “most of our Girl Scouts have been together since Kindergarten Daisies and it has been amazing watching them grow and achieve so much.”
