Join the Library of Congress as Cadette Girl Scouts work toward achieving their Comic Artist badge. Cadettes will explore items from the Library of Congress’ collection, hear from comic artists about their process, create their own comic book and learn about the work of the Library to oversee one of the world’s largest collections of comics. During this program Cadette Girl Scouts will receive all the supplies and guidance needed to complete the Comic Artist badge.
Register for one 90-minute session below. Space is limited and registration is required. Doors to the event room open 15 minutes before your registered event time and prompt arrival is recommended to ensure all badge activities are completed.

Garden Discover Day is a day of children's educational programming for grades K-12. Master Gardeners teach lessons, give garden tours, live demonstrations, and help participants create take-home crafts and plants. Programs will cover various topics, including nature, bugs, gardening, flowers, trees, and growing food. We include activities designed specifically to fulfill Girl Scout badge requirements. All programs will be held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg.

Travel back to 1913 to join the Women’s Suffrage Parade! Create your own “Votes for Women” sash and write a speech advocating for a woman’s right to vote. Learn about some of the heroines of the movement, including women that participated in the parade right here in DC. What would it be like to be a girl at this time? Why is it important that women have the right to vote?
This program results in the “Playing the Past” badge, which is included in the registration price.
