Performers included Meadow, who delivered an
impressive solo performance, along with three dynamic
teams: Team Leckie from Troop 40269, Soul
Steppin’ Sistas from Troop 6078, and Bow Leopards
from Troop 70358. Each act showcased its own unique
style—combining rhythm, teamwork, and powerful stage presence that
energized the audience.
Adding to the significance of the event, the showcase was judged by
members of the Divine Nine, the historic coalition of Black
Greek-letter organizations known for their legacy of leadership,
scholarship, and service. Many of the judges were also long-time
Girl Scout members, creating a meaningful connection between
generations of leaders and honoring the cultural roots of stepping.
Throughout the showcase, it was clear that stepping and Girl
Scouting share a powerful connection. Both require courage to take
the stage, confidence to perform with pride, and character to uplift
one another as a team.
More than just a performance, the Step Showcase was a celebration of
culture, leadership, and community. It highlighted how Girl Scouts
continue to create opportunities for young people to express
themselves, honor traditions, and build the skills that help them grow
into confident leaders.
As the final stomp echoed through the Liberty Center, the rhythm of
stepping and the spirit of Girl Scouting left a lasting
impression—demonstrating that when Girl Scouts come together with
courage, confidence, and character, they can truly shine.
