Dear Girl Scout Members,
On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the National Board held a special session where delegates representing councils across the country discussed and voted on proposals to increase membership dues.
The voting has concluded, and the proposal to increase membership dues to $65 for youth members and $30 for adult members has been approved. This approval includes a special provision: youth membership dues will increase gradually over two years. Starting with Membership Year 2026, youth dues will be $45, and they will reach $65 in 2027. For adult members, the dues will increase to $30, effective from Membership Year 2026.
Before a decision was made, we reaffirmed our commitment to all members, ensuring that every Girl Scout—current and future—has the opportunity to join and be a part of our community. Our dedication to removing financial barriers is stronger than ever, and we will continue to offer various financial resources and assistance programs for membership dues, troop dues, camperships, programming grants, and more.
Lastly, I want to express the gratitude we all have for the delegates who represented Nation’s Capital. They prepared in advance, engaged in thoughtful debate, and made crucial decisions to guide our Movement’s path forward.
If you have questions, concerns, or want to share your feedback regarding this outcome, please send your feedback to communityfeedback@gscnc.org or reach out to our Council Care line at 202-274-2164.
Yours in Girl Scouting,
Kim R. Ford
Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital
