Build-A-Bear Workshop is now at our Main Shop, in Washington, DC!

Come in and customize your own furry Girl Scout friend and make your Build-A-Bear as unique as you are.

You’ll choose a furry friend, stuff it with the help of our staff, and then bring it to life with the iconic Build-A-Bear’s Heart Ceremony with a Girl Scout touch! Then have fun dressing your friend up with trendy Girl Scout outfits, cookie merchandise, accessories, and more!

Walk-ins available for individuals and/or groups of three or less

Event experiences are available for groups of 4-20 participants.

Is the Washington DC Main Shop location a full-sized Build-A-Bear Workshop?

The Washington DC Main Shop location is not a full-size Build-A-Bear Workshop. We are a smaller, specialized workshop featuring Girl Scout-themed bears and accessories, along with a selection of everyday animals and adornments. Visit us at our Main Shop location to meet your new friend!

Who can come and Build-A-Bear?

Anyone! You don’t have to be a Girl Scout to make a new friend! Please see our Main Shop walk-in hours below.

Can I Build-A-Bear without an appointment?

Yes! We will be happy to take walk-ins (max 3 at a time) at the Main Shop during the following times:

Monday – Friday

11:00 am - 4:00 pm

How much are your party packages, and what is included?

We have two fun party packages available to groups of 4-20 participants.

Awesome Adventure Package: $40 per guest

This package includes: 1 (one) bear or furry friend for each guest (up to $28), 1 (one) Girl Scout Uniform (up to $11), a fun patch, Cub Condo, and activity.

The Ultimate Experience: $58 per guest

This package includes: 1 (one) bear or furry friend for each guest (up to $28), 1 (one) Girl Scout Uniform (up to $11), 1 (one) footwear or clothing or accessory item (up to $10), a fun patch, a bear carrier (up to $8), and activity.

Can I reserve a time for my troop or group?

Yes! Please check our reservation request site at https://form.jotform.com/240096959460061. Please contact us at gsshop@gscnc.org or 202-274-3312 for details. Reservations are available on Saturdays for the following 2-hour time slots:

Saturdays 10:30–12:30 p.m. and 1:30–3:30 p.m.

What can I bring to our Build-A-Bear Workshop event?

You are welcome to bring party supplies, including food and beverages to your scheduled event. Tables and chairs are available to use. Decorations are encouraged too!

Girl Scout Nation’s Capital does not provide any party supplies or decorations.

Can we use a Build-A-Bear gift card at the Main Shop location?

Unfortunately, we are not authorized to accept Build-A-Bear gift cards.
